지역 경제 개발을 이끄는 Choose Columbus 대표단이 화요일 오전 NVH Georgia를 방문해 회사의 확장 계획과 고용 문제 등을 논의했다.
이번 방문에는 Missy Kendrick Choose Columbus 대표 겸 CEO와 Andy Hilmes 전략 부문 부사장이 참석했으며, NVH Georgia 측에서는 박성택 법인장과 윤동환 책임자가 대표단을 맞이했다.
양측은 회의에서 NVH Georgia의 향후 성장 전략을 중심으로, 인력 개발, 주정부 세금 인센티브, 제조업에 대한 장기적 지원 방안 등을 폭넓게 논의했다.
Kendrick 대표는 “고용세액공제(Job Tax Credit)를 포함한 다양한 주정부 경제 개발 프로그램이 NVH Georgia의 콜럼버스 내 확장에 실질적인 도움이 될 수 있다”고 밝혔다.
이에 대해 박성택 법인장은 인력 채용 및 유지에 따른 어려움을 토로하며, “특히 공장 설비를 정비하고 유지할 수 있는 숙련된 기술 인력이 절실히 필요하다”고 강조했다.
그는 이어 “회사가 성장함에 따라 경험 있는 기술 인력을 찾는 것이 가장 큰 과제 중 하나”라고 덧붙였다.
회의를 마친 후, Choose Columbus 대표단은 NVH Georgia의 생산 시설을 둘러보며 현장을 직접 확인했고, 양측은 앞으로도 긴밀한 협력을 이어가기로 했다. 지속적인 논의를 통해 기업 성장과 지역 경제 발전이라는 공동의 목표를 함께 추진할 계획이다.
NVH Georgia는 자동차 바닥 매트 및 관련 부품을 전문적으로 생산하는 자동차 부품 공급업체로, 지역 제조 산업에서 중요한 역할을 하고 있다.
Leaders from Choose Columbus visited NVH Georgia on Tuesday morning to engage in a strategic dialogue on workforce development and opportunities for supporting the region’s manufacturing ecosystem.
Missy Kendrick, President and CEO of Choose Columbus, and Andy Hilmes, Executive Vice President of Strategy, met with Sungtaek Park, President of NVH Georgia, and Mr. Donghwan Yoon, the company’s General Manager.
The meeting focused on the company’s operations and broader business environment, with discussions touching on talent development, available state programs, and long-term industry support in the Columbus region.
Missy Kendrick, President and CEO of Choose Columbu highlighted resources available through state economic development programs, including the Job Tax Credit, which may help strengthen local business initiatives.
Sungtaek Park, President of NVH Georgia shared insights into workforce needs, noting the importance of attracting and retaining skilled employees, especially technicians with experience maintaining specialized manufacturing equipment.
“Recruiting experienced technical workers is a key focus as we look to sustain and improve operations,” Park said.
Following the meeting, the Choose Columbus team toured the facility and expressed their appreciation for NVH Georgia’s role in the regional economy. Both organizations intend to maintain a strong line of communication and collaborate on future opportunities that support mutual goals.
